Carbon cost of electricity consumed
Did you know that on an average every unit of electricity your consume (KiloWatt Hour) contributes to more than 0.6 KG of Co2 being emitted in the air? Simple maths and you will realize that one light bulb that remains switched on over night contributes to over 0.2 tonnes of Co2 in a year. That's the cost of one person doing something (or not doing!) that adds no value to that person's life or any one else's! Just 1000 aware people deciding to cut back on something as simple as that and one has saved 200 tonnes of Co2 from being unnecessarily added to the atmosphere! Simple and yet mid boggling. Isn't it?

Hey Puneet!
ReplyDeleteGreat initiative... This page goes straight into my bookmark list. Hope to see more informative blogs on this page.
A small suggestion, you can probably change the theme color of this blog to a darker shade. As per Roberson et al (2002) (http://enduse.lbl.gov/Info/LBNL-48581.pdf), a given monitor requires more power to display white than black. The more visitors visit your blog, the more is the amount of electricity thats saved!
I truly believe in your blog title - Lets go green.
All the best!
